
The SSC GD Constable Exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit eligible candidates for the post of General Duty Constable in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, as well as Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and other central security organizations.

The written exam is an online Computer-Based Test that includes four main subjects.
1. General Intelligence and Reasoning: Covers topics like analogies, similarities, coding-decoding, direction sense, series, puzzles, and more.
2. General Knowledge and Awareness: Includes current events, India’s history, geography, general science, constitution, sports, and basic awareness of the environment.
3. Elementary Mathematics: Focuses on basic arithmetic like number systems, percentages, profit and loss, time and work, averages, simple interest, and data interpretation.
4. English/Hindi Language: Tests grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, synonyms-antonyms, and basic language skills.
After qualifying in the CBT, candidates have to clear the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).
In the PET, male candidates are required to run 5 kilometers in 24 minutes, and female candidates need to complete 1.6 kilometers in 8.5 minutes. Physical standards such as height and chest (for males) also need to be met according to SSC norms.
